Provide design and facilitation services including:

  • Codesign, development, and execution of workshops and trainings on human-centered design & design thinking processes and methods; strategic foresight; systems thinking; and equity-centered contextual/design research

    ACTIVITIES: Develop approach to meeting objectives, design meeting/workshop/convening experience and tools, facilitate session

    POSSIBILITIES: Support design of convenings to maximize authentic engagement and participation, curate events with design artifacts and tools to further your intentions, facilitate experiences that center people and surface meaningful interactions to better outcomes

Research & Insights

Provide design-based, qualitative research capacity including:

  • Design and development of research questions, approach, and equitable methods of data collection, analysis, and sharing

  • Developing and executing qualitative, contextual research through inquiry-based approaches (including narrative, case study, phenomenological, and grounded theory among others)

  • Analysis and synthesis of qualitative research generating findings and meaningful insights that tell human-centered stories impactful to participants and stakeholders

  • ACTIVITIES and POSSIBILITIES

    START HERE: Free 30 minute introductory consultation

    ACTIVITIES: workshops to develop analytical and theoretical framing for discovering research questions or problems to solve; developing research proposals and codesigning methodologies including qualitative data collection; engaging in interviews, observations, focus groups and other data collection in-person or online; participatory workshops to analyze and synthesize (including coding and thematic interpretation)

    POSSIBILITIES: learn to collaboratively ask better questions for finding and understanding needs and experiences of individuals, organizations, and communities; gain equity-centered independent research and insights generated from immersive and contextualized 'user' (/UX) methods that care for and value participants throughout the research process; develop capability to reframe challenges and opportunities through evidence; understand the why and how behind impacts with design-based program evaluation and intervention studies

    COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

    • $100/hour (negotiated rates available for people working in nonprofits, social impact, and by request)

    ACTIVITIES: develop analytical approaches to understanding organizational context, needs, and goals; design and execute workshops and exercises including: shared value chain; mission/vision/values; team start; value chain; business model canvas; boundary spanning leadership, and more; audit organizational structures and/or practices with analysis and report on findings

    POSSIBILITIES: activate a participatory and holistic approach to understanding organizational landscape, aspirations, and motivations; develop design-based activities to understand current organizational realities and imagine future states; catalyze new and transforming teams for greater innovation capacity
